O final tambĂ©m poderia ser melhorzinho, nĂ©? What would I do in such a world where women's rights, choices and freedom were so limited. She wanted to go to a nunnery and asked Edric to allow her to go. Though he despises the conquerors, Edric can sense that Kathryn is different-gentle and giving, yet possessing a fire that enflames Edric in turn-and he grudgingly allows her into his broken life. Sandra Spilecki 10:11am March 9, 2011 transports me to a new place i love these kind of books Debbi Shaw 1:15pm March 9, 2011 I love historical books, they take me to a completely new place and time. But cruel destiny intrudes when she is taken prisoner by Scot barbarians—though a kinder fate intervenes when she is rescued by proud, haunted Edric of Braxton Fell, a bitter Saxon lord displaced by Norman rule. She soon started creating her own fictional characters and putting them into historical settings. Very often the novel gives us a more in depth knowledge of events that are not readily available in the general history books. I'm looking forward to reading this one. This is not a critique at all.

I've even started writing some of my own. But cruel destiny intrudes when she is taken prisoner by Scot barbarians—though a kinder fate intervenes when she is rescued by proud, haunted Edric of Braxton Fell, a bitter Saxon lord displaced by Norman rule. The romance between the hero and heroine is off balence for quite a while during the story, she falls for him pretty quickly, he appreciates her and lusts her, but does not realize he loves her until much, much later in the story. I've been reading lots of historical romance lately and I sometimes found myself wondering what if I woke up one morning and found myself 200-300 yrs back or more, and I'm no longer in the 21st century!??!! That way, when a question arises from reading a book, I can just look it up. Margo Maguire successfully took me back in time. Edric was married to another Norman woman, who died in child birth, which we read about when Edric and Kathryn returned to his home. Some writers are not happy with threes, but it is not a bad rating.

Can't wait for my copy of Seducing the Governess to arrive. I call it one of the best romance stories I've read in quite a while. Kathryn, a Norman noblewoman and Edric, a Saxon lord who had submitted to the Norman king William found themselves together during this period in history. I found this time period very interesting. I started with Georgette Heyer and never looked back while imbibing in this genre. For Kathryn's capture has tainted her in the eyes of her people, and she can never again return home.

Her future rests in the strong hands of her enemy champion. Thats what keeps me reading. This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers. S Tieh 2:26pm March 8, 2011 My favorite of all time historical fiction is Green Darkness by Anya Seton. Leila herself calls it a novel. I learned so much about medieval England from reading that one, and dearly loved the settings and the story.

That would be my life disappointment if I let the what ifs stop me. Anthonia Sharp 10:55am March 8, 2011 I read both contemporary and historical books. Her future rests in the strong hands of her enemy champion. Although lengthy, 600 pages , the pages flew through my fingers, and I couldn't put the book down until I finished it. Kathryn was taught that abduction by Scots raiders would render any woman unfit for marriage and that the shame of such capture is a fate worse than death. I won't say more as I don't want to spoil the story for you. I love, love, love historical books! Read and sweat for 40 minutes. I look forward to reading this one.
